The beaches of Lotzorai
Lotzorai is famous for its long sandy beach, which extends for approximately 5 km, from the Tortolì pond in the south to Santa Maria Navarrese in the north. This stretch of coast offers five unique beaches, each with its special charms, all waiting to be explored.
The clear, golden beach is easily accessible from the town centre and is interrupted only by the estuaries of two rivers: the Rio Girasole and the Pramaera. During the summer, when the flow of the rivers decreases, you can travel the entire coastline with a pleasant walk along the beach.
Each stretch of coast has a different name, starting from the south: Isula Manna, Iscrixedda, Marina delle Rose (or Lido delle Rose), Pollu and Tancau. An interesting fact? The outline of Ogliastra Island, which stands out on the horizon, seems to change shape depending on the beach it’s being observed from.
The coastal ecosystem also has some surprises: from the shoreline to the dunes behind it, every kilometre offers small differences which make the walk even more fascinating. Ideal for those who love trekking along the sea and want to discover new spots.

Lido delle Rose
The Lido delle Rose, also known as Is Orrosas, a true paradise of golden sand and crystal-clear sea. A point of reference for seaside life, it is an ideal destination both for families with children, thanks to the shallow and safe seabed, and for young people, who are attracted by the lively atmosphere.

Tancau
Tancau beach, located in the northern part of the Lotzorai coast, is a splendid expanse of golden sand, framed to the north by scenic red porphyry rocks, the same ones which distinguish the nearby Ogliastra Island.

Pollu
Less crowded than the other beaches on the Lotzorai coast, Pollu Beach is an oasis of peace and natural beauty. Wide and unspoilt, it is characterised by the evocative mouth of the Pramaera River, which creates a unique environment between the land and the sea.

Isula Manna
Lying to the south of the Lido delle Rose, the Isula Manna beach is one of the most popular destinations on the Lotzorai coast. This stretch of coast, characterised by golden sand and crystal-clear waters, is enriched by a thick pine forest, which offers pleasant shaded areas for total relaxation.

Isola Manna
Su Stoargiu Beach marks the southernmost point of the Lotzorai coastline, separated from the rest of the coast by the evocative Su Stoargiu canal, which creates a small natural island.

Ogliastra Island
You will be enchanted by an evocative islet of porphyry and granite, a true symbol of Ogliastra. It was once a legendary refuge for sailors.
